In short
- DolBal has no user accounts and no backend. Your budget stays on your device.
- We do not receive your income, goals, spending or allocation history.
- Optional Premium subscriptions are handled by RevenueCat and Google Play.
- We do not show ads, use analytics, track you across apps or websites, or sell your data.
- You can delete your local data at any time from the app or by uninstalling DolBal.
1. Who we are
DolBal is an independent Android budgeting application. In this policy, “DolBal”, “we”, “us” and “our” refer to the developer of the app, who is the data controller for the processing described below. You can contact us at dolbalapp@gmail.com.
This policy applies to the DolBal Android app (package name pl.dolbal.app) and
this website. It explains what information is processed, why, where it is stored and what
rights you have.
2. Data stored on your device
DolBal is a local-first app. The information you enter is stored only in a private local database on your Android device. This includes:
- phases and goals, including names, target amounts, deadlines and progress;
- your income, allocated amounts, undistributed amounts and allocation history;
- recurring goals, expected income plans and monthly usage history;
- app settings, such as theme, display format, blur and tutorial preferences;
- your local Premium status, so the app can work offline.
This data is kept in the app's private storage and is protected by the Android app sandbox. It is not sent to us, and we have no server or database that receives it. We cannot view, export or erase it for you.
You can delete your local data at any time using the reset/delete options in the app or by uninstalling DolBal. Deleting the app or its data does not cancel an active Premium subscription — see section 4.
Budget calculations, allocation previews and completion predictions run locally on your device. They are mathematical operations on the data you entered, not automated decisions about you that produce legal or similarly significant effects.
3. Information we do not collect
We do not create user accounts and we do not ask for personal details. In particular, we do not collect:
- your name, email address, phone number or postal address;
- your contacts, calendar, photos, camera, microphone or precise location;
- advertising identifiers, cross-app tracking data, analytics events or crash reports;
- the financial information you enter into the app.
We do not show advertising, use third-party analytics or track your activity across other
apps or websites. The Android app declares permissions needed for network access and Premium
billing: INTERNET, ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE and
com.android.vending.BILLING. The subscription UI library also declares Android
biometric permissions (USE_BIOMETRIC and USE_FINGERPRINT); DolBal
does not ask you for biometric data and does not receive it. We do not request access to your
contacts, location, camera, microphone or photo library.
4. Premium and third-party services
DolBal is free to use. An optional Premium subscription unlocks additional features. We do not process payments ourselves and never receive your full payment card details.
RevenueCat
We use RevenueCat, provided by RevenueCat, Inc., to manage subscriptions and Premium entitlements. The RevenueCat SDK is initialized when the app starts so it can check whether Premium is active, even if you never buy a subscription. RevenueCat may receive:
- an anonymous App User ID generated by RevenueCat (we do not assign your name, email or account);
- purchase and entitlement information, such as the Google Play purchase token, product identifiers and subscription status;
- technical information such as device type, operating system, app version and the last time the app was used;
- your IP address and an approximate region derived from it as part of normal network communication.
RevenueCat processes this information on our behalf as a data processor to provide and restore Premium, keep subscription status in sync, prevent fraud and abuse, and provide support. RevenueCat's privacy policy is available at revenuecat.com/privacy.
Google Play
Google Play processes payments and manages subscriptions. Google acts as an independent data controller for information such as your Google account, payment method, purchase history and related transaction data. We do not receive your payment card details. Google's privacy policy is available at policies.google.com/privacy.
You can manage or cancel your subscription in Google Play. Uninstalling DolBal or deleting its local data does not cancel an active subscription.
Roles and legal bases
| Recipient | Information | Purpose | Role |
|---|---|---|---|
| RevenueCat, Inc. (USA) | Anonymous App User ID, purchase and entitlement data, device and app information, IP address and approximate region | Premium entitlement, restore purchases, fraud prevention, support | Processor |
| Google LLC / Google Play (USA and other countries) | Google account, payment method, purchase history and related transaction data | Payment processing and subscription management | Independent controller |
Where the GDPR applies, we rely on the following legal bases: performance of a contract (Article 6(1)(b)) to provide Premium; legitimate interests (Article 6(1)(f)) in keeping the app and subscriptions secure and preventing fraud; legal obligations (Article 6(1)(c)) for tax and accounting records; and consent (Article 6(1)(a)) where required, which you can withdraw at any time without affecting processing carried out before withdrawal.
5. Export, import and sharing
DolBal lets you export a backup of your data. The export is created only when you ask for it. It is a plain, unencrypted JSON file containing your budget, goals, history and settings. You choose where to save it or which app to share it with through Android's share sheet. Once the file leaves DolBal, it is governed by the storage provider or app you chose; we do not receive a copy.
When you import a backup, the selected file is read by the app and replaces your current data. Only import backups you created or trust. Store exported files securely and delete them when they are no longer needed.
6. Android and cloud backups
DolBal enables Android's standard app backup (android:allowBackup="true").
Depending on your device and Google account settings, Android may back up the app's local
data to your Google account so it can be restored on a new device. This backup is controlled
by Android and Google, not by us, and may remain in your Google account after you uninstall
the app. You can manage or disable backups in your device's system settings and delete backup
data in your Google account settings.
This automatic Android backup is separate from the manual JSON export described in section 5.
7. This website
This is a static informational website. We do not use cookies, analytics, advertising pixels, social plugins or third-party fonts or scripts. The site does not ask you to create an account or submit budget data.
Our hosting provider may automatically process standard technical information, such as your IP address, browser type, requested page and the date and time of access, to deliver the site and keep it secure. This processing is based on our legitimate interest in operating a secure and reliable website (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR) or the hosting provider's own legal obligations. We do not use these logs to identify you.
If you email us, we receive your email address and the content of your message. We use this information only to respond to you and handle your request. This processing is based on our legitimate interest in responding to you (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR), or your consent where required (Article 6(1)(a) GDPR). We keep correspondence only as long as needed for that purpose, unless the law requires a longer retention period.
8. Retention
- Budget data on your device: kept until you reset or delete it in the app, or uninstall the app. We hold no copy.
- RevenueCat data: kept for as long as needed to provide subscription services and meet legal obligations, in accordance with our agreement with RevenueCat and its retention policy.
- Google Play data: retained according to Google's policies.
- Email correspondence: kept as long as needed to respond and resolve the matter, then deleted unless a legal obligation requires longer retention.
- Hosting logs: retained according to our hosting provider's policy.
9. Security
We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information. Your local budget data is protected by the Android app sandbox and by your device's security features, such as screen lock and storage encryption, if enabled.
DolBal does not add separate encryption to its local database. Exported JSON backups are unencrypted plain text — store them securely and delete them when no longer needed. Information sent to RevenueCat and Google is transmitted over HTTPS/TLS. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
You are responsible for keeping your device, Google account and exported backups secure.
10. Your rights
If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, Switzerland or another jurisdiction with similar data protection laws, you have the right to:
- access the personal data we hold about you;
- request correction of inaccurate data;
- request erasure of your data;
- request restriction of processing;
- receive your data in a portable format;
- object to processing based on legitimate interests;
- withdraw consent where processing is based on consent; and
- lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority.
Because your budget data never reaches us, you exercise access and deletion directly on your device using the app's reset/delete options or by uninstalling the app. For data we process — such as email correspondence or subscription-related data held by RevenueCat — contact us at dolbalapp@gmail.com. We may ask for information needed to verify your request. If your request concerns data processed by RevenueCat on our behalf, we will forward it to RevenueCat as our processor.
You can complain to your local supervisory authority. In Poland, this is the President of the Personal Data Protection Office (UODO), ul. Stawki 2, 00-193 Warsaw, uodo.gov.pl. In the United Kingdom, this is the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), ico.org.uk.
Residents of other countries may have similar rights under local law, including Canada's PIPEDA, Brazil's LGPD and Australia's Privacy Act. Contact us to exercise them.
11. International transfers
RevenueCat and Google are based in the United States and may process information in the USA and other countries. Where personal data protected by EEA or UK law is transferred outside those areas, we rely on appropriate safeguards, including the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses and the UK Addendum, together with additional measures where required. You can request more information about these safeguards by contacting us.
12. United States privacy rights
If you live in California or another US state with a comprehensive privacy law, you may have the right to know, access, correct, delete or obtain a copy of personal information, to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information or targeted advertising, to limit the use of sensitive personal information, and to be free from discrimination for exercising your rights.
We do not sell personal information, share it for cross-context behavioral advertising or use it for targeted advertising. In the past 12 months, we may have collected the following categories of personal information: identifiers (anonymous App User ID and IP address), commercial information (purchase and entitlement history), and internet or device information (device type, operating system, app version and last-seen time). We collect this information for the purposes described in this policy and disclose it to RevenueCat and Google as service providers or independent controllers, as applicable. We do not knowingly collect sensitive personal information.
To exercise your rights, contact us at dolbalapp@gmail.com. Authorized agents may submit requests with proof of authorisation. We will respond within the time required by applicable law, and we will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights.
13. Children
DolBal is not directed to or intended for children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us, contact us and we will delete it. Local budget data can be removed by resetting the app or uninstalling it. Parents and guardians should manage device and Google account access for minors.
14. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will publish the revised version on this page and update the “Last updated” date. If changes materially affect how we handle information, we will provide additional notice where required by law. Continued use of the app or website after the effective date means you acknowledge the updated policy.
15. Contact
Questions, privacy requests or complaints can be sent to dolbalapp@gmail.com. We aim to respond within 30 days or the period required by applicable law. For payment or subscription issues, contact Google Play support; you can also manage your subscription through Google Play or the RevenueCat Customer Center in the app.
